Autism Awareness Seminar: "Moving from Surviving to Thriving"

On April 3rd, 2024, the prestigious Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View's Nilgiri Hall was the venue for a seminal seminar dedicated to rising autism awareness among corporate bodies. This event marked a significant step toward fostering a more inclusive work environment and society at large.

The seminar brought together the officers and employees of Radisson Blu, along with other esteemed guests, to engage in a discourse on the nuances of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The goal was to move beyond mere awareness to actionable understanding — empowering individuals with autism to not just survive but to thrive in their environments.

Highlighting Autism in the Workplace:

The session was graced by Dr. Fahmida Islam Chowdhury, the General Secretary of the FARE Foundation and Chairperson of Spectra School. As the resource person, Dr. Chowdhury provided profound insights into the world of autism, discussing its impact on individuals' professional and personal lives.

Seminar Objectives:

  • Awareness: Educate Radisson Blu's team about ASD, debunking myths and presenting the realities of the spectrum.
  • Inclusivity: Discuss strategies for creating an autism-friendly workplace that values diversity and inclusivity.
  • Support: Highlight the importance of support systems and accommodations that can be provided by employers to individuals with ASD.
